Yangtze Memory Technologies Co., Ltd. (YMTC) has reached a milestone in its A‑share IPO process, with the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) updating its sponsorship status to "supervision acceptance completed" on August 19. The sponsorship is jointly led by CITIC Securities and China Securities.

This status confirms that the pre‑listing preparatory phase – covering corporate governance, financial systems, and internal controls – has been reviewed and accepted by regulators. It does not mean approval or listing, but it clears the way for YMTC to formally submit its IPO application and enter the subsequent review and hearing stages.

Founded in Wuhan in 2016, YMTC is China’s sole IDM focused on 3D NAND flash memory, serving consumer electronics, servers, and data centers. Valued at RMB 160 billion in the 2025 Hurun Global Unicorn List, it ranked among China’s top 10 unicorns and was the highest‑valued new semiconductor unicorn that year.

According to Counterpoint’s Q2 2026 report, YMTC captured 14% of the global NAND flash market, rising to third place worldwide – a clear signal of growing competitiveness for Chinese flash brands.

ICgoodFind Takeaway:
YMTC’s IPO is advancing. A successful listing could fuel capacity expansion and tech upgrades for China’s 3D NAND champion – and the NAND market will be watching.
